The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is exploring new trade routes across the Middle East as the region looks for more flexible alternatives to major shipping lanes such as the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.

According to the IMARC Group, Ethiopia’s logistics market reached USD 6.26 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow to USD 8.88 billion by 2034, reflecting a CAGR of 3.97%.

Kenya’s Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) is transforming the country’s logistics sector, moving 7.4 million tonnes of cargo in 2025 and generating 16.6 billion Kenyan shillings, with monthly revenues now exceeding 1.3 billion.
