Data from the DHL Global Connectedness Tracker shows global goods trade grew faster in early 2025 than any period since 2010 (outside the pandemic), highlighting the importance of connectivity—especially for Sub-Saharan Africa’s links with Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Growth will be driven by digitalisation and AI-enabled logistics, the rise of second cities such as Mombasa, Eldoret and Kumasi as new trade hubs, and sustainability becoming a core operating standard.
