  • Chinese-Built Dar es Salaam Hub Strengthens China–East Africa Trade and Logistics Links
January 11,2026

The East Africa Commercial and Logistics Center (EACLC) in Dar es Salaam is emerging as a strategic China–East Africa logistics hub, streamlining cross-border trade through integrated warehousing, customs support, shipping coordination, and business services. Built by Chinese investors and located near Tanzania’s main port, the centre is designed to reduce logistics bottlenecks, cut costs, and address information gaps in China–Africa trade. It already hosts merchants from China, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Somalia, and other regional markets, trading goods ranging from machinery and construction materials to electronics and textiles. By combining smart warehousing, real-time inventory tracking, and e-commerce connectivity, EACLC is shifting China–East Africa commerce to a more efficient, platform-based logistics system.
