Parliament approved and the President signed into law on 11 December 2024 the Tax Laws (Amendment) Bill 2024, the Tax Procedures (Amendment) Bill, 2024, the Statutory Instruments (Amendment) Bill, 2024 and Kenya Revenue Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2024.
The Tax Laws (Amendment) Bill 2024 aimed to amend several key tax pieces of legislation including: the Income Tax Act (ITA), the Value Added Tax (VAT) Act, the Miscellaneous Fees and Levies Act (MFLA) and the Excise Duty Act (EDA).
The Acts became effective on 27 December 2024.
